More commonly associated with women, stretch marks affect most people, young and old. These long, narrow lines are typically caused by rapid growth and stretching of the skin, either through pregnancy or weight gain. Stretch marks tend to affect the belly, breasts, buttocks and thigh area, starting out red or purple, but over time, fade to a silvery-white colour.
The severity of stretch marks varies. There are a number of stretch mark treatments available. Click on the links to learn more.
